Coca-Cola FEMSA was born in 1993, as a result of the partnership between FEMSA and The Coca-Cola Company.
With the acquisition of the largest franchise of the Coca-Cola system in Latin America (PANAMCO) in May 2003, Coca-Cola FEMSA acquires presence in nine countries: Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil.
In January 2007, in partnership with The Coca Cola Company, it acquired Jugos del Valle (JDV), consolidating its presence in the non-carbonated beverages market in Mexico and Brazil. Coca-Cola reaches Colima in 1942 thanks to the initiative and leadership of the family Brun, which initiated the distribution and sales of the Coca-Cola product 6.5 Oz. This product was shipped from Embotelladora “La Favorita” in Guadalajara, Jalisco by rail.
In 1954 the construction the bottling plant “Embotelladora de Colima” started. The company was founded by Mr. Emilio Castellanos O, Eduardo Brun S, Guillermo Brun R, Carlos Garcia Castellanos, Juan Garcia Castellanos and Vicente Garcia Castellanos. In April 1955 Embotelladora de Colima starts operations with a production line that had a capacity of 36 bottles per minute and 37 employees.
It was the first plant in Latin America that bottled Fanta Naranja and thus the second one that released to the Mexican market.
The franchise “Embotelladora de Colima” currently comprises the south region of Jalisco and the Colima region, it has 2 production and distribution centers within the city of Colima, it also has 2 lines of carbonated products and 1 line Agua Ciel water in its jug presentation, as well as 4 distribution centers in Ciudad Guzman, Tamazula, Sayula and Pihuamo, generating sources of direct employment for more than 1,000 employees and it provides service and a supply network for 10555 customers.

Industria Envasadora de Querétaro was the first company of its kind in the Mexican Republic established by the initiative of Mr. Roberto Ruiz Obregón, President of GRUPO FOMENTO QUERETANO, who in 1979 identified the need to create a canning plant for soft drinks brand Coca Cola and start The ambitious project. In June 2013 PetStar was named the World's Largest PET Food Grade Recycling Facility by "PCI PET Packaging Resin and Recycling, Ltd." with a capacity to produce 50,000 tonnes of high-quality recycled PET resin with a Social responsibility approach.

In 2005, as a result of the alliance with Coca Cola Mexico, Coca Cola Femsa and Alpla de México was born the Mexican Recycling Industry, it is the first food grade recycling plant in Mexico and Latin America.
For the construction of the company, recycling technology capable of transforming post-consumer PET into food-grade flake was chosen, through a chemical reaction and physical processes that allow the total decontamination of the material, this process guarantees the highest characteristics of Purity comparable to those of virgin material, which nowadays allow millions of bottles to include up to 50% recycled material.
Imer has processed more than 140,000 tons in 10 years and currently has a capacity to process 25,000 tons of pet per year, has the backing of the health secretary and contributes significantly to the conservation of our environment and environment.
